SO WHAT IS ONLINE DATING?
Online dating is any dating system which facilitates different people to contact and communicate with each other over the internet. Most times the purpose of online dating is to develop a personal relationship with someone, usually with the hope of becoming romantically or sexually involved with the person.
HOW DOES ONLINE DATING WORK AND WHY DATE ONLINE?
There are many sites available that offer online dating services. Some are free and flooded with people; others charge a monthly fee and are still flooded with people. The fact of the matter is that people need love, companionship and a sense of belonging. You cannot choose the family you were born into, but you get to choose the person you spend the rest of your life with. There are many beautiful people all across the world whose paths simply would not have crossed if they had not made the decision to date online.
In your search for love and companionship, is it really too much of a hassle to try meeting that special someone somewhere else besides the local coffee shop or some other social circle you frequent?
The world is yours to choose from and is laid at your fingertips and the click of a mouse. Be creative in your quest to find that person, but please don’t enter desperate and pathetic mode.
STORY: Online Drama
Soon after my graduation I started receiving numerous friend requests on a popular social network due to presenting one of the most beautiful valedictory speeches ever (If I must say so myself). I accepted the friend requests all on the account that we had mutual friends, attended the same high school or college. Majority of my new ‘friends’ would complement my speech, extend congratulations and or inquire about my future plans. There was this one guy who I will call Johnny B, who went beyond congratulating me to complementing my pictures and physique. Of course any attention loving woman is going to entertain a few complements here and there, but Johnny B went a step too far.
Johnny B claimed that the sound of my voice echoed in his head at night and images of me filled his thoughts. He professed that when he looked into my eyes he saw love and his heart told him that I was his soul mate. All he was asking of me is just one date, one time for him to show me that he is the man for me.
This is a man that I have never met in my life. He claimed to have been at my graduation ceremony, like hundreds of other people. Now I am in his head “at night” and when did I look into his eyes again?
What do you think? What would you do? Any online ‘drama’ stories?
I thought “STALKER” and immediately unfriended his ass. Pardon my French J
With all things in life online dating is a risk...It works for some and doesn't for others...you may find your soulmate indeed or a stalker.
ReplyDeleteIt is said that GREAT LOVE and GREAT ACHIEVEMENT comes with GREAT RISK.
ReplyDeleteOnline dating comes with pros and cons... You may meet the perfect person, but they may live half way around the world, on another planet or even further -_- And dating is a tangent from friendship. I assume most people who ended up dating started out as friends, so (the internet) is really convenient for making friends. And thanks to Facebook, I have friends from all over the world even though I don't have visas for these countries :) Like most things, online dating comes with possible (ends) i.e benefits and risks. Essentially, whether ones tries it or not really depends on how much one is willing to seek one (end) at the expense of another :D But I'm jus saying...
ReplyDeleteHow much someone wants something really determines the extent to which they will go to get it :)
